The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested 48 individuals suspected of involvement in internet fraud in Umudike, Abia State. The arrests were made by the Uyo Zonal Directorate of the EFCC following actionable intelligence. The suspects were apprehended at various locations within Umudike.
During the operation, the EFCC recovered several items, including 12 exotic cars, 15 laptops of different brands, and 68 expensive smartphones. The commission has indicated that the suspects will face charges in court once the investigations are completed. The information was disclosed through a post on the EFCC’s official X (formerly Twitter) handle.
