APC Governors Hold Closed-Door Meeting in Kebbi to Deliberate on National, Party Issues

Members of the Progressive Governors Forum (PGF) on Thursday night convened a closed-door meeting at the Council Chamber of the Kebbi State Government House, Birnin Kebbi, to deliberate on pressing national and internal party matters.

The meeting, chaired by Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma, brought together governors elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

According to reports by Channels Television on Friday, the discussions centered on key national issues, internal party cohesion, and strategies to strengthen the ruling party ahead of upcoming political events.

While the APC National Chairman, Dr. Nentawe Yilwatda, was also in Kebbi State, he did not participate in the meeting. In a statement issued on Thursday to announce his arrival, Yilwatda disclosed that in addition to the PGF meeting, he would be attending the inauguration of the Tinubu Kauran Gwandu Movement for Continuity State Secretariat.

“Over the next two days, APC governors will engage in closed-door sessions to deliberate on critical national and party matters,” Yilwatda stated. “As a party, we remain committed to unity, good governance, and the vision of Renewed Hope for all Nigerians.”

Details of the resolutions reached during the meeting were yet to be made public as of press time. However, insiders suggest that the discussions may have touched on governance performance across APC-controlled states, national security, economic reforms, and strategies to consolidate support for President Bola Tinubu’s administration.
