Undeterred, he reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to building a resilient and enduring city that transcends individual tenures.

Addressing pressing concerns, Governor Sanwo-Olu announced significant measures aimed at uplifting the populace amidst economic hardships. Notably, the state has prioritized the payment of pensions, with disbursements for January and February already completed, amounting to over 5 billion Naira this year alone. Additionally, a 25% reduction in fares across state-owned transport services, including BRT, Lagride, and ferry services, is set to commence this weekend.

Collaborations with hospitals to offer rebates and the rollout of health initiatives across the city’s six districts underscore the administration’s commitment to enhancing healthcare services and addressing urgent needs.

In a call to action, Governor Sanwo-Olu rallied support from the private sector, urging collaboration to bolster government interventions. Notably, he disclosed efforts to secure donations of essential food items to support community initiatives such as the Sunday market drive.

This team is tasked with devising strategies to amplify social interventions across the state.

He also highlighted significant strides in the education sector, including the establishment of two additional state universities within five years and ongoing efforts to secure approval for a university of medical sciences from the National Universities Commission (NUC). The creation of the Lateef Jakande Leadership Academy aims to groom the next generation of leaders, while consistent bursary disbursements underscore the government’s commitment to supporting students.
