Manchester United will resume talks with RB Leipzig today as they aim to reach an agreement for the transfer of Benjamin Sesko. The 22-year-old has already agreed personal terms over his proposed move to Manchester this summer after he informed his club he did not want to join Newcastle. The Bundesliga club had already accepted a bid of €82.5 million plus €2.5m in add-ons from Newcastle and have yet to agree to a deal with United.
There is confidence from all parties that Sesko will become a United player in the final month of the summer transfer window, with Leipzig resigned to the fact he has played his final game for the club. Sesko was left out of the Leipzig squad for their friendly match against Atalanta last weekend and is set to train alone until his future is resolved.
In a social media post on Thursday morning, transfer guru Fabrizio Romano issued an update on the Sesko deal and confirmed the striker would not be required to report for training while talks continue. “Manchester United and RB Leipzig, back in talks today for Benjamin Šeško deal to agree on final package,” he posted on X. “Šeško agreed personal terms yesterday and will train separately until deal is done between clubs.”
