Lagos Governor Sanwo-Olu, Wife Vote Amidst Huge Crowds

The Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has voted at his polling unit in Lagos on Saturday.

He was at the St Andrew Primary School Polling Unit 006, Ward E3, Okepopo, Lagos Island East LCDA, in the ongoing Local Government Election in Lagos State.

He was accompanied by his wife, Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu.

The governor reportedly cast his vote at 11:28 am.

However, his Deputy, Kadri Hamzat, cast his vote earlier at his polling centre in Oke-Balogun, Epe at 11:05 am.

Sanwo-Olu who had yesterday called for massive turnout of voters for the local council election casted his vote amidst huge crowd of voters who cheered him as he dropped his ballot papers into to the ballot box.

Addressing newsmen after casting his vote, the governor lauded the conduct of the election which he described as extremely peaceful.

He however talked down reports of LASIEC officials being stranded at some councils over poor logistics arrangement.

“The officials are on ground and I’ve conducted my civic exercise very well. You can see that all of the agents of the parties are on ground and in three, four minutes, it’s all over.

“To report and to say what is here, it is extremely very peaceful and we have lots of observers. But quite frankly, watching on the TV, maybe there was one or two logistics in one or two places, but I think they have also resolved them because I was actually on the TV in the last one hour.” He added.
