Once more, VeryDarkMan has been detained and is being held in custody.

A Federal High Court in Abuja ordered the detention of Martins Vincent Otse, commonly known as Verydarkman, a social media influencer and critic. He was brought before the court by the Nigeria Police Force on charges related to cyberstalking.

His attorney, Deji Adeyanju, requested bail, but the prosecution requested additional time to prepare their response. Consequently, Justice Mobolaji Olajuwon of the Federal High Court adjourned the bail hearing to May 29.

The police sought to have the well-known social media critic detained in prison, but his legal team requested that he be held in police custody instead.

The court approved their request, and he was subsequently transported to the National Cybercrime Centre.

The contentious critic faced remand for similar cyberbullying charges back in March 2024. Known for his penchant for controversial topics, the 27-year-old has been embroiled in controversies since January of this year.
