Wizkid does not release most of his features with Nigerian artists – Slimcase

Nigerian musician Slimcase has disclosed why Wizkid, his Grammy Award-winning colleague, keeps the majority of the tracks he writes with other musicians.

He claims that before releasing a song, Wizkid listens to it roughly fifty times to make sure it lives up to his expectations.

He claimed that because majority of the musicians’ collaborations with Wizkid fell short of his expectations, they were never released from the studio.

“When you make music with Wizkid, he will let you do your thing without any scrutiny, then in your absence, he can listen to the song like 50 times to know if the song meets his standard,” Slimcase stated in a recent interview with Naija FM, Lagos. This explains why you see musicians working with Wizkid in the studio and the music never stops.

In 2018, Slimcase and Wizkid released a song called “Gucci Snake.”

Recently, singer BNXN criticized Wizkid for keeping track of his partnerships with up-and-coming musicians.

He bemoaned the fact that although Wizkid consistently works with up-and-coming musicians, the majority of their tracks never make it out of the studio.
