Security Operation Launched After Miscreants Seize Control of Jakande Lekki/Epe Express Road

A security operation was initiated along the Jakande Lekki/Epe Express Road after miscreants from shanties seized control of the area, causing disruptions and concerns for public safety.

The Lagos State Taskforce, in its efforts to enforce environmental regulations, commenced the demobilization of illegal structures and shanties along the coastal road alignment and Jakande estate in Lekki. However, the operation encountered unexpected challenges when miscreants from the affected shanties took control of the express road, disrupting traffic on both sides.

In response to the situation, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Ilasan swiftly mobilized resources and launched immediate action to restore normalcy to the area. Security agencies have maintained a strong presence in the vicinity to ensure the safety and security of residents and commuters.

The incident highlights the ongoing efforts of the Lagos State government and security forces to maintain law and order, particularly in areas prone to illegal activities and encroachments. The collaborative response from law enforcement agencies underscores the commitment to upholding public safety and enforcing regulations to create a conducive environment for all residents and businesses operating in the area.

Authorities continue to monitor the situation closely and have urged members of the public to cooperate with security personnel and report any suspicious activities or disruptions to ensure the effective maintenance of peace and security along the Jakande Lekki/Epe Express Road and surrounding areas.
