Lagos Housewife fatally Stabbed over water

In the Ajegunle region of the state, a housewife was allegedly fatally stabbed by a lady who was detained by the Lagos State Police Command while fighting over well water.

According to information obtained by the New Telegraph, the deceased woman, Mrs. Barakat Adio, and the suspect, Cynthia Aigbondon, had a small argument when they went to a public borehole to get water. After that, Aigbondon went inside, took out a knife, and fatally stabbed Mrs. Adio.

In a statement released on Tuesday, Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) SP Benjamin Hundeyin confirmed the event. He stated that the deceased’s husband, Lukmon Adio, reported the crime to the Ajegunle Police Division on Sunday at approximately 9:48 p.m.

The husband stated that during their water fetching at a public borehole near their home, his late wife and their neighbor, Aigbondon, had a small argument.

According to Hundeyin, the suspect got a kitchen knife as a result of the miscommunication, and she used it to stab the complainant’s wife in the left side of her ribs.

“After the incident, she was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital, where the doctor on duty confirmed her dead on arrival.

“The suspect was immediately arrested and the scene of the crime was visited, photographs were taken and the exhibit knife was recovered at the station.

“Meanwhile, the corpse has been deposited at the Mainland Hospital Mortuary for autopsy and preservation, while the investigation continues,” he said
