Mr Antony Blinken, the US Secretary of State, met with Nigerian President Bola Tinubu in Abuja on Tuesday as part of his tour to four African nations.
Nigeria is the third nation he has visited during his Africa tour.
When he arrived in Abuja, he was met by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume, and Tuggar.
Blinken paid visits to Cape Verde and Ivory Coast on Monday before arriving in Nigeria, presenting America as the continent’s primary economic and security partner.
He is scheduled to land in Angola after his visit to Nigeria.
Despite the fact that violent crises and widespread coups threaten the continent’s stability, the tour focuses on commerce, security, and democracy development.
Meanwhile, observers believe Africa has been thrown to the back burner under President Joe Biden’s administration, which is more preoccupied with other foreign crises such as the Ukraine crisis, the Israel-Hamas conflict, and its competition with China.
