Oside Oluwole, a Nigerian biochemist and auto dealer, also known as Khoded, has set a new world record for the longest video game marathon.
Guinness World Records (GWR) announced through a social media post that Khoded, aged 24, achieved the record by playing a soccer video game continuously for 75 hours, participating in over 500 games.
He exceeded the prior record of 50 hours set by Englishman David Whitefoot in 2022. The biochemist undertook the challenge to raise funds for a local hospital in his hometown of Ijebu-Ode.
Announcing Oluwole’s feat, GWR wrote: “Before no one in the past has broken this record by such a large margin as Oside has. It was first set in 2010 with a time of 24 hours and gradually increased to 50 hours after being beaten seven times in 11 years.”
