Soun Ghandi wrote: Yesterday, my heart overflows with joy as we mark a defining moment in the history of Ogbomosoland. The maiden edition of the Ogbomoso Education Summit is not just an event—it is the birth of a new era.
Education, the true bedrock of civilization, has taken center stage today. We did not gather merely to listen, but to chart a new course for a brighter tomorrow. With what I have witnessed here, I boldly declare that Ogbomosoland will never remain the same again. Our journey toward becoming a true model city has begun.
I deeply appreciate my dear friend, Dr. Deji Adeleke, Chairman of the Day (ably represented by the Vice Chancellor of Adeleke University), for his benevolence and unshakable support for education in our land. I also commend Prof. Josiah Ajiboye and the hardworking Education Committee for their relentless efforts in making this summit a reality.
As a commitment to our future, I am making these promises today:
- The five best performers in JAMB from Ogbomosoland will enjoy full scholarships from me.
- The top thirty students will be hosted for a special dinner with me in the Palace.
- The school with the best overall result will have its principal rewarded with ₦500,000.
These are only the first steps in a bigger vision to secure the future of our children and build a land that will stand as a beacon of excellence for generations to come.
As I declare today: “We rise together, as one people, to secure the future of our children and to build an Ogbomosoland that generations yet unborn will be proud of.”
Truly, the story of Ogbomosoland is being rewritten and education is at its very heart.
