President of Dangote Group, Aliko Dangote, has reiterated the need for Africa to reduce its dependence on imports, stating that true economic growth lies in self-reliance.
Hosting an ECOWAS delegation at the Dangote Refinery — the world’s largest single-train facility — Dangote emphasized that the refinery is capable of meeting Nigeria’s and West Africa’s petroleum needs.
He challenged claims doubting the refinery’s capacity and urged other African nations to pursue large-scale industrial projects.
The ECOWAS Commission also pledged to support opening up the regional market — and potentially the entire African continent — for such transformative initiatives.
