NRC Reopens Online Ticketing for Abuja–Kaduna Train Service

The Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) has announced the reopening of its online ticketing platform for the Abuja–Kaduna Train Service ahead of the resumption of operations on October 1.

In a statement issued Tuesday in Lagos, the Chief Public Relations Officer of NRC, Callistus Unyimadu, said passengers can now book tickets via https://nrc.tps.ng or at designated train stations.

Unyimadu disclosed that journey times have been adjusted following a review of the Temporary Speed Restriction (TSR) to enhance efficiency. The new schedule shows Abuja (Idu) departures at 8:45 a.m., with stops at Kubwa (9:10 a.m.) and arrival at Rigasa, Kaduna, by 11:47 a.m. The return service leaves Rigasa at 2:30 p.m., stops at Kubwa at 5:12 p.m., and arrives at Idu by 5:32 p.m.

He thanked passengers for their patience during the service suspension and assured the public that safety, comfort, and customer satisfaction remain NRC’s priorities.

The Abuja–Kaduna service was temporarily halted on August 26 after a train derailed, leaving several carriages overturned and sparking panic among passengers. NRC later confirmed it had completed comprehensive safety, technical, and operational checks before announcing the resumption.
