Kotoko’s Amoah Targets Qualification Despite Narrow Win Over Kwara

Asante Kotoko striker Albert Amoah insists the Ghanaian side will finish the job against Kwara United despite only managing a slim 4-3 victory in their CAF Confederation Cup preliminary round first-leg clash on Sunday.

Amoah scored twice at the Accra Sports Stadium to hand the Porcupine Warriors the advantage, though defensive lapses allowed the Nigerian visitors to stay within touching distance.

The return leg will be played at the MKO Abiola Sports Arena in Abeokuta, where Kwara need a 1-0 win to progress. Kotoko, however, only require a draw to secure a place in the second round.

“We played very well and scored more goals, but a little mistake from the defence allowed them to come back,” Amoah said after the match. “We are not giving up — we are going there to qualify.”
