The immediate past Nigerian President, Muhammadu Buhari, is dead.
News of Buhari, a two termed President who also served as military head of state filtered in Sunday evening.
According to reports, the ex-President died in London where he had come under medical attention after he travelled out of Nigeria few weeks ago.
It was reported that Buhari suffered series of medical challenges while in office spending considerable time out of the country for treatment.
Details of the death were sketchy as at press time.
Just few days ago, a book “According to the President: Lessons from a Presidential Spokesperson’s Experience,” was publicly presented in Abuja. It was authored by one of his spokesmen Garba Shehu.
One of the aides of the former President Bashir Ahmad, announced the demise on behalf of the family in a statement he tweeted Sunday evening.
He wrote;
“The family of the former president has announced the passing on of the former president, Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR, this afternoon in a clinic in London. May Allah accept him in Aljannatul Firdaus, Amin.”
