Aregbesola, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour Hold Closed Door Meeting in Lagos

The interim National Secretary of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) coalition party, Rauf Aregbesola, has held a closed-door meeting with the 2023 Labour Party’s candidate for Lagos State Governorship Election, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour.

This is coming barely a day after Aregbesola’s arrival in Lagos.

The former Osun State Governor had relocated to his Lagos residence on Monday after assuming his new role as the ADC National Secretary.

While been received at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport (MMA) by mammoth supporters yesterday, Aregbesola played host to Rhodes-Vivour at his residence on Tuesday.

The former Labour Party’s governorship candidate, in a post on his X handle expressed his delight meeting with Aregbesola.

Rhodes-Vivour described the meeting as an indicator of the quest towards a new Nigeria and a Lagos that works for everyone.

“Had a great meeting earlier today with Engr Rauf Aregbesola @raufaregbesola . The mission is clear and the commitment unwavering.

“More importantly, we shook hands.

“A new Nigeria, and a Lagos that works for everyone is possible.” Rhodes-Vivour wrote.

Meanwhile, his emphasis on the handshakes had sparked speculations of Rhodes-Vivour’s possible defection to the ADC.

Recall that the Labour Party had at the 2023 Presidential election sent shock to the APC after winning the poll in Lagos State- a victory which Rhodes-Vivour capitalised ahead of the governorship election.

Labour Party’s defeat of President Bola Tinubu at the General election in Lagos forced Aregbesola to relocate to the state to avert another blow at the Governorship election.
