President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has commended Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State for his transformative development projects, whilst warning residents against what he described as “political IDPs” seeking to form coalitions against the government.
Speaking during a stakeholders’ engagement at the Aliyu Akwe Banquet Hall in Government House, Lafia, on Tuesday, President Tinubu said the people would have no regrets for giving Sule their mandate as governor.
The President made these remarks after commissioning several infrastructure projects executed by Governor Sule over the past six years, including flyovers, underpasses, and agricultural equipment distribution programmes.
“From this moment on, you will have no regrets as you see a hard work coming from A.A. Sule. And he’s striving to use the resources available to him for the benefit, stability, and prosperity of Nasarawa State. Sule is doing well. Which mean Bola Ahmed Tinubu is doing well too,” the President said.
Tinubu praised the governor for using available resources to embark on projects beneficial to the people whilst ensuring the state’s stability and prosperity.
However, the President took a swipe at opposition groups, describing them as “political IDPs” and warning residents not to give them hope. He said he was compelled to speak against what he termed “gangsterism” by those forming coalitions to unseat the government.
“Nasarawa State, it is a state of great complexity that has the diversity of culture, people and prosperity,” Tinubu noted, adding that the progress recorded in the state was an extension of his administration’s commitment.
The President highlighted Nasarawa’s agricultural potential, saying he observed fertile land, mechanised farming methods, and rapid growth in rice and maize production during his visit.
