President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has commended the Governor of Kaduna State, Senator Uba Sani, for his remarkable strides in restoring peace and driving infrastructural development across the state.
The President gave the commendation during his official visit to Kaduna on Thursday, where he inaugurated several landmark projects. According to a statement released by Presidential spokesperson Mr. Bayo Onanuga, the President described Governor Sani as “a force for change, unity, and development.”
Among the key projects inaugurated were the Institute of Vocational Training and Skills Development in Rigachikun, a 300-bed specialist hospital, and 100 compressed natural gas (CNG) buses aimed at transforming public transportation in the state.
President Tinubu praised Governor Sani’s efforts in promoting reconciliation among the state’s diverse ethnic communities and improving security across previously volatile areas.
“I commend Governor Uba Sani for prioritising security and infrastructure. We are here to celebrate his visible results. Uba Sani has transformed a tense atmosphere into one of peace,” President Tinubu said. “You are an exceptional leader. Kaduna is back on track, and I am proud to work alongside you.”
The President also expressed his willingness to support the state’s ambitious infrastructure agenda, particularly the construction of a light rail system to ease transportation challenges. He acknowledged the contributions of traditional rulers in maintaining peace and fostering development across the state.
“I have long-standing ties with Kaduna in politics, business, and democracy. It’s a pleasure to return and witness the positive transformation,” Tinubu added.
In his remarks, Governor Sani thanked President Tinubu for his consistent support, especially the ₦100 billion allocation in the 2025 national budget for the Kaduna Light-Rail Transit project.
“When we assumed office in 2023, Kaduna was under siege—plagued by banditry and distrust,” Sani recounted. “Farming communities were deserted, and highways were unsafe. But we refused to surrender. We understood that security is the foundation for progress. Today, we’re seeing results, thanks to the unwavering support of Mr. President.”
Governor Sani reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to building a secure, prosperous, and inclusive Kaduna for all.
The President’s visit marks a renewed partnership between the Federal Government and Kaduna State, with a shared focus on infrastructure, peacebuilding, and economic revitalization.
