Tragedy Strikes as Groom, Two Friends Die in Auto Crash Moments Before Wedding in Bauchi

What was meant to be a joyful celebration turned into a heartbreaking tragedy on Saturday in Bauchi State, as an intending groom and two of his friends lost their lives in a fatal accident just an hour before his wedding ceremony.

The deceased, Superintendent of Police Mustapha Garba Gumau, was en route to Magaman-Gumau from his hometown of Gumau in Toro Local Government Area for his wedding fatiha scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Sadly, he never made it. At about 9:00 a.m., the vehicle conveying him and some friends reportedly veered off the road and crashed in a village called Bargan Tsamiya, just a few kilometres from their destination.

The accident claimed the lives of SP Mustapha, along with his friends Shuaibu Umar and Sulaiman Musa. Eyewitnesses said the trio died on the spot, while other passengers sustained varying degrees of injuries.

At the time of filing this report, the Bauchi State Police Command had not issued an official statement on the incident. However, an unofficial source confirmed the deaths, adding that the Command is still compiling details surrounding the crash.

The tragic news has left the communities of Gumau and Magaman-Gumau in deep mourning, with wedding celebrations turning into scenes of sorrow.
