SPECIAL Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Mr. Bayo Onanuga has thanked President Bola Tinubu, for honouring him with a national award of Commander Order of the Niger, CON.
The honour announced at the joint session of the National Assembly in commemoration of Democracy Day celebration, was in recognition of his role during the June 12 struggle and the enthronement of democracy in the country.
In a statement via his X account, formerly Twitter, Mr. Onanuga wrote: “Thank you, Mr. President, for the national honours for me and many of my colleagues, who “braved the odds and the guns” to enthrone democracy and fight for the de-annulment of the June 12 election result.
“I am grateful for the recognition and will continue to serve my country in the best way I know.”
