Osun Governor Adeleke Mourns Passing of Olori Solape Abolarin

Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Olori Solape Christianah Abolarin, wife of the Orangun of Oke-Ila, Oba Adedokun Omoniyi Abolarin.

The death of the respected queen was first announced by a former governorship aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Dotun Babayemi, in a post on his Facebook page on Wednesday. While the cause of her death has not been disclosed, tributes have continued to pour in from across the state and beyond.

In his tribute, Babayemi described Olori Solape as a “pillar of grace, humility, and compassion,” noting that her demise is a great loss not only to the royal family but also to the entire Oke-Ila community.

“It is with deep sorrow that I extend my heartfelt condolences to His Royal Majesty, Oba (Dr) Adedokun Abolarin, Aroyinkeye I, the Orangun of Oke-Ila, on the passing of his beloved wife, Olori Solape Christianah Abolarin,” he wrote. “May the Almighty grant His Majesty the strength to bear this irreparable loss, and may the soul of the dearly departed Olori rest in perfect peace.”

Reacting to the news, Governor Adeleke, in a statement signed by his spokesperson, Mallam Olawale Rasheed, described the late Olori Solape as a virtuous woman and a strong pillar of support to her husband.

He extended condolences to Oba Abolarin, their children, the royal family, and the entire people of Oke-Ila, urging them to take solace in the impactful life she lived.

“The Governor conveys his heartfelt condolences to Oba Abolarin and the people of Oke-Ila, as well as the Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, where she served before her untimely death,” the statement read.

“Olori Solape was a beacon of humility and motherhood. While her passing brings immense pain, we must honour the legacy she leaves behind and uphold the values she represented throughout her life.”

Governor Adeleke prayed for the peaceful repose of Olori Solape’s soul and urged all who were touched by her life to find comfort in the memories and the meaningful impact she made in her community.
