A CELEBRATION OF TRADITION AND HOPE: AARE ASOJUOBA OF IBADAN CONGRATULATES NEW ALAAFIN OF OYO, HAILS SUCCESSFUL LISABI DAY CELEBRATION IN OGUN STATE

PRESS RELEASE

The Aare Asojuoba of Ibadanland, Dr. Abisoye Fagade, heartily congratulates His Imperial Majesty, Oba (Dr) Lukman Adelodun Gbadegesin, Orumogege III, on his ascension to the revered throne as the Alaafin of Oyo. This momentous occasion marks a new chapter in the illustrious history of the Oyo Empire and stands as a symbol of enduring tradition, cultural pride, and leadership.

As a proud son of Ibadanland and custodian of values that unite our people, I pray that the reign of Oba Gbadegesin is marked by divine wisdom, peace, and prosperity across Oyo Kingdom and Yorubaland as a whole. May his leadership bring unity, strength, and renewed progress to the land and its people.
In the same spirit of cultural pride and heritage preservation, I commend the people of Ogun State, particularly the Egba indigenes, on the successful hosting of the recently concluded Lisabi Day celebration. The festival remains a vital platform for showcasing our rich traditions, strengthening communal bonds, and fostering intergenerational knowledge transfer.
The continued celebration and elevation of such festivals are in direct alignment with the Renewed Hope Agenda of His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, which seeks to revitalize Nigeria’s creative, cultural, and tourism economies for inclusive growth and national transformation.

As the Director-General of the National Institute for Hospitality and Tourism (NIHOTOUR), I reaffirm our unwavering commitment to empowering and regulating skilled personnel and practitioners in the hospitality, travel, and tourism sectors. NIHOTOUR will continue to partner with traditional institutions and cultural custodians to harness our heritage as a tool for sustainable development, economic opportunity, and global cultural relevance.

Let us together celebrate our history, honor our traditions, and build a future that reflects the strength of our roots and the promise of tomorrow.

Signed:
Aare (Dr) Abisoye Fagade, FIMC
