A video has emerged of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike celebrating the Supreme Court rulings on Rivers State.

The Supreme Court on Friday ordered the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, and the Accountant General of the Federation to stop releasing financial allocations to Rivers State government.

The apex court ordered that the ruling would be in force until Governor Sim Fubara of Rivers State stops all his illegal, unlawful and unconstitutional activities.

It directed that funds would not be released to Fubara’s government until a lawful Appropriation Law is enacted by the House of Assembly under the leadership of Wike’s loyalist, Martin Amaewhule.

In a judgment on Friday delivered by Justice Emmanuel Akomaye Agim, the Supreme Court also ordered the 27- members of the Rivers House of Assembly, led by Amaewhule, to resume function immediately.

In a unanimous judgment of the five-man panel of Justices led by Justice Musa Uwani Aba-Aji, the apex court held that it was an aberration for Fubara to operate with only 4 out of the 32 members of the House of Assembly.

Similarly, the apex court dismissed the local government election conducted in Rivers State on October 5, 2024.

The court described the election as null, void, invalid and illegal.

Following the development, Wike’s spokesman, Lere Olayinka posted a video of his principal with former Enugu State governor, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi singing and praising God.

In the video posted on X, the minister could be heard singing “I never knew he will honour me this way…….”

Olayinka wrote: “Rivers Crisis: I dey hear with my left ear say the Opobo Judas of Rivers is not smiling at all

“The Opobo Judas of Rivers was warned. Supreme Court has recognized Martins Amaewhule as the Speaker of Rivers State House of Assembly. DAZZOL.”
