Controversial street singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has claimed he is currently receiving treatment at the Federal Neuropsychiatric Hospital, Aro, Abeokuta.
His disclosure came after the Ogun State police command declared him wanted following an attack on officials of the Ogun State Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development.
Recall that officials of the Ogun State government were attacked at Odogwu Bar while conducting an enforcement exercise at Oke-Osa, Tigbo Ilu Ota.
The singer has made several videos on social media apologizing to the state government over the violent act which the police claimed
However, in a statement on its social media handle, X, the Ogun Police Command declared Portable wanted, citing a court order.
“The Ogun State Police Command has obtained a valid court order declaring him wanted. Members of the public are strongly advised to assist the police by providing any valuable information that can lead to his immediate arrest. Anyone found aiding or harbouring the suspect will face legal consequences,” the statement reads in part.
Appealing to Nigerians and Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun, Portable, in a series of videos on his Instagram page on Tuesday, insisted on his innocence and claimed to have a medical record at Aro Psychiatric Hospital.
He said, “I fear government. I am a federal government liability. Then I’m a madman; I have medications that I usually take. You can confirm from Aro Hospital. I have a card that certifies me as one of their patients.
“I am from Abeokuta and they are taking care of me there. I am not a thief, and never done Yahoo. I help people around me without even looking at their background.”
He also attributed his current predicament to the spiritual, saying, “Some persons are attacking me spiritually because I bought their lands and houses.”
