Following Prince Akeem Abimbola Owoade’s appointment as the new Alaafin of Oyo, a report has it that Governor Seyi Makinde may present the new Alaafin-elect with the certificate of office today.
According to a palace source who requested anonymity, Prince Owoade is expected to return to Oyo town after receiving the certificate of office.
Disclosing the event as impromptu and low-key, he noted that it was occasioned to fast-track other necessary arrangements for the official coronation of the Alaafin-elect.
“Prince Owoade has been in Ibadan since yesterday. We anticipate he will be presented the certificate of office today Insha Allah.”
“Though we never expected it will be urgent like this, I think it’s done in preparation for the official coronation,” he said.
