Labour Party in Ogun State has distanced itself from any electioneering campaign beyond 12midnight on Thursday.
LP said it can therefore not be held responsible for any campaign on radio, television and in newspapers seen after the deadline.
The party in a statement by its State Publicity Secretary, Tokunbo Peters, urged the Ogun State Independent Electoral Commission and other concerned authorities to take note.
The statement read as follows:
PRESS RELEASE
The Labour Party wishes to inform its teeming supporters and the general public that the Party’s electioneering campaign for Saturday’s Local Government Election would cease by 12 midnight today Thursday 14th November, 2024.
The Party would not be held responsible for any campaign jingle aired on the radio or television and any campaign advertorial published in the Newspaper, Blogs or social media platforms beyond the midnight of today Thursday 14th November, 2024.
OGSIEC and all concerned authorities should please take note.
