Prince Williams Adeleye, Chairman of Ogbomoso Cradles Carnival Committee gave a speech at the fund raising Dinner for The Maiden Edition Carnival at Eko Hotel and Suites, in Lagos State on 6th October, 2024.

He welcomed the guests to the esteemed occasion organized by the Committee on Culture and Tourism, in celebration of the Ogbomoso Cradles Carnival, scheduled to take place from December 19-24, 2024.
At the event the Chairman emphasized that Promoting cultural heritage and tourism is a key aspect of the 25-year development plan established by His Imperial Majesty, Oba Ghandi Afolabi Olaoye Orumogege III, the Soun of Ogbomosoland. The initiative aims to encourage unity and drive economic growth throughout Ogbomosoland.
According to him, The Ogbomoso Cradles Carnival aims not only to showcase our rich cultural heritage but also to position Ogbomosoland as a preferred destination for tourists and investors across various sectors, including agriculture and food production, real estate, information and communication technology (ICT), and manufacturing.
“Since our inauguration in April, we have been proactive in our efforts, benefiting immensely from the cooperation and support of the sons and daughters of Ogbomosoland, as well as our friends both at home and in the diaspora. Their participation and contributions toward the success of the carnival have truly been invaluable. In our pursuit of creating a world-class celebration that rivals events like the Rio Carnival in Brazil, the Carnival of Venice in Italy, and the Notting Hill Carnival in London, we humbly seek your support—financially, morally, and materially” the Chairman said
He stated the committee outline budget exceeds N300 million. He also addressed His Imperial Majesty Ghandi Afolabi Olaoye Orumogege III saying his majesty has consistently shown his support for the initiative, He appealed to the esteemed personalities gathered there to join hands with him and the committee in making the historic event a resounding success by contributing generously.
He added that the event presents an excellent opportunity for guests to showcase their products and services through exhibitions and advertisements in our special compendium at affordable rates.
Once again, The Chairman extended his heartfelt gratitude to The lmperial Majesty for initiating this visionary idea and for selecting members of the guests as part of this transformative journey through the 25-year development agenda. “May Almighty God grant us all the Grace and strength to realize the Ogbomoso of our dreams” He said
The program of event outlined for the carnival are :
Day 19th Dec. Opening ceremonies featuring egungun, traditional hunters display, bata/ drummers etc.
Day two. Dec 20th Odun Oole Oba
Day three. Dec 21st Golf tournament and sports finals.
Day Four. 22nd Dec. Egungun Display Traditional Cuisines, stage play and Musical concerts.
Day 5. Youth festival and traditional beauty parade.
Day 6th Grand finale, Cultural displays from groups across the 5 LGAs and traditional homage to Kabiyesi including guest artist.
The Chairman concluded his speech stating “Dear guest, ladies and gentlemen , please plan to spend your holiday in Ogbomoso during this festival and you will never regret you did. I won’t conclude this speech without acknowledging and commending the committee members, especially those who organized this event in Lagos—you have done an exceptional job.
