Fuel Price Hike: Abuja Residents Accuse Tinubu for lack of concern

Tinubu’s supporters stage counter-protest in Kano

Residents of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja who were stranded on a major road in the Nation’s capital on Tuesday have slammed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the pain caused by the Premium Motor Spirit(Petrol) increase.
Commuters at various bus stops in Abuja were struggling to find commercial vehicles. The situation was particularly dire around the Berger roundabout, Jabi Junction, Central Business District, Wuse Market, and other areas in the capital.

Bernard Ezeokafor lamented, “It’s painful. I’ve been here since 4 pm and still haven’t found a vehicle to get home. It’s clear the government doesn’t care about the people. President Bola Ahmed is cruel for implementing another fuel price hike.”

Maryam Yakubu shared similar frustration after waiting at Berger Bus Stop for hours post-work. This comes as the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited raised the petrol pump price to N885 per liter on Tuesday, up from N617.

Similarly, other filling stations are charging between N900 and N1000 per liter. This increase in petrol prices coincides with the announcement by Aliko Dangote, President of Dangote Group, regarding the official rollout of his own petrol.
