Dr. Emeka Kalu, Director General of Global Initiatives for Good Governance (GIGG), expressed his support for Atiku in a statement issued in Lagos. Kalu argued that Nigeria needs a leader with extensive experience and broad national appeal, qualities that Atiku embodies as a unifying figure. He stated, “As the 2027 general elections approach, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar stands out as the leader with the experience necessary to address Nigeria’s issues and revitalize the ailing economy.”
“The present state of the nation demands that a president with national appeal be popularly elected since the APC’s vetted nine years of governance has woefully failed us.
“Leadership is a sensitive profession, and only those with the capacity, wisdom, and sagacity are fit to govern the polity.
“Those sentimentally harbouring ill-conceived feelings of ethnic hatred, mudslinging, and media attacks on Atiku’s personality are the main enemies of the country who are good at sponsoring and installing stooges in positions of authority with the deceptive intent of receiving undue gratifications from the puppets.
“They rely on cheap political permutations to peddle falsehood against a man whose good antecedents have pencilled his name on the golden stones of honour.”
Kalu, in his statement, also urged the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Nigerians to give Atiku the needed support and votes so the former VP can emerge as president in 2027.
