The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has detained Hyginus Nkwocha, a suspected billionaire internet fraudster, in Abuja. According to a statement from EFCC spokesperson Dele Oyewale, the 35-year-old Nkwocha was arrested at Ever-Green Estate in Lugbe on Wednesday following credible information linking him to internet-related crimes. Seized from Nkwocha were $2,200, multiple high-end phones including iPhone 15 Pro Max and Samsung Galaxy models, a MacBook, a range of gold jewelry, and several luxury cars, including a Mercedes Benz ML 350 and a Chevrolet Camaro. Additionally, properties in Lagos and Abuja were also confiscated. Nkwocha is expected to face charges in court once investigations are complete.
