Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s presidential candidate in Nigeria’s 2023 elections, has responded to the announcement of a new presidential jet acquired by President Bola Tinubu’s administration. This response came after the Presidency revealed on Monday that President Tinubu would be using the new jet for his trip to France.
According to the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the jet was bought for less than the cost in the market.
Reacting to the development in a statement he titled: “Now that the Presidential Jet has arrived,” on his X handle on Tuesday, Obi, a former two-term governor of Anambra State, said Nigerians expect more transparency from the Presidency on the issue.
He said: “From all indications, despite all the denials, and back and forth over the newly acquired
Presidential aircraft, the jet is now here thanks to the French court that helped Nigerians to get the information.
