‘My role in ‘A Tribe Called Judah’ most difficult I ever played’ – Actor Uzor Arukwe

Uzor Arukwe, a well-known actor in Nollywood, has characterized his portrayal in Nigeria’s top-grossing film, ‘A Tribe Called Judah,’ as the most demanding role of his career.

Playing Chidoke, an Igbo businessman and money launderer in the movie, Arukwe mentioned that the role posed challenges as he had to consistently incorporate the Igbo dialect’s distinct pronunciation of ‘R’s’ and ‘L’s’. He shared these insights during a recent interactive session with fans on the X platform.

A keen fan inquired, “What’s the toughest role you’ve tackled?”

Arukwe responded, “In ‘A Tribe Called Judah’ because I had to deliberately substitute the ‘L’ sound with the ‘R’ sound to ensure authenticity and credibility.” Funke Akindele, the producer of the blockbuster film, praised his exceptional performance in a tweet, saying, “You absolutely nailed it. Great job, bro. Thank you as well.”
