Nollywood producer and actress Toyin Abraham has praised the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMPVCA) organizers for the success of this year’s ceremony.
There have been backlash to the 10th Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards following the exclusion of Funke Akindele’s historic film “A Tribe Called Judah.”
Even though “A Tribe Called Judah” became the first Nigerian film to gross over N1 billion in theaters last December, it was unsuccessful for all five nominations.
Abraham said the following on her Instagram page: “Best and realest AMVCA ever.” Congratulations, @busola.tejumola. Yes, we love you, and you did a great job. Well done, @africamagic.
This occurs just two weeks after Abraham offered her colleague Funke Akindele a helping hand, stating that rumors had turned them into “competitors and persona non grata.”
She remembered how their competition started in the Yoruba film industry and how it transferred to Nollywood, the Nigerian-English film industry.
But Abraham claimed that wisdom and experience have shown her that they can compete without becoming detrimentally competitive.
