Nigerian singer Ruger has claimed that his Grammy-winning colleague, Burna Boy introduced the live band into Afrobeats performance.
Before Burna Boy began utilizing a live band, he claims that the majority of Afrobeats artists performed on stage with DJ sets.
Burna Boy, he claimed, made live performances “enjoyable.”
“Before Burna Boy started this live band thing, most Afrobeats Act would just go on stage with their DJs and bounce,” Ruger stated in a recent interview with Billboard with BNXN. “Burna Boy makes live performance enjoyable.”
“We the young people from Nigeria know what Burna Boy has done, so I don’t care if they give him his flowers or not.”
