Despite his prior achievements, Grammy Award-winning musician Wizkid, real name Ayodeji Balogun, says that his musical career is just to begin.
The well-known Nigerian artist expressed his feelings in an interview with BBC Radio 1Xtra.
Even though Wizkid has received praise and has seen success in terms of streaming and chart positions, he has expressed his belief that there is still more for him in the music business.
The artist claims that his love for music is unquenchable and that it will always burn brightly in him.
“The journey is about to begin for Wizkid. I don’t see myself as someone who has achieved something major yet. For me, music is a forever thing,” he said.
It’s important to note that Wizkid is the most award-winning artist on the continent and one of Africa’s most commercially successful musicians.
He is the most streamed artist in Sub-Saharan Africa on many platforms and the second most followed musician from Nigeria on social media, right after Davido.
