Fellow Nigerians, Friends, and the Social Media Community,
I would like to take this opportunity to address you today, not merely for the sake of communication, but because it is the right thing to do in these challenging times when we are all experiencing pain.
Undeniably, times are tough, the pain is unbearable, and the cost of living has skyrocketed. The impact of the current economic hardships on the average person can only be imagined.
To be honest, we are all going through a period of suffering.
Let’s take a moment to put this into perspective, especially for those of us who are not public office holders but campaigned for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, believed in his manifesto, and still hold optimism that he will fulfill his promises to Nigerians. It has not been easy.
Believing in a vision or supporting the president during times like these does not diminish the pain. It does not separate me or any of his supporters from the people or the present economic hardships. It simply means that we still have faith that pain is temporary when something good is about to emerge.
Standing firm on our mandate does not mean that we are immune to pain. However, just as Isaac believed in his father Abraham to the point of death when he thought he would be sacrificed to God before a ram was provided, we also believe that the ongoing reforms will yield positive results and restore our country’s lost glory.
When we lose faith, hope fades away, and nothing good can come from it. Therefore, I appeal for calm and for us to set aside our political or ethnic differences. Let us persevere a little longer and continue the conversation for a better and functional Nigeria. We will not cease to voice our concerns, engage with the government, or express our dissatisfaction through the appropriate channels. However, I implore you, let us come together as one and show love and support to one another during this trying time.
As the Bible says, weeping may endure for the night, but joy comes in the morning. May Nigeria’s joy come swiftly, and may we all be present to witness a new Nigeria filled with prosperity and greatness.
In conclusion, I plead with all of you to refrain from unnecessary curses, insults, and abuse. We are all in this together, and together we shall witness greatness in the end.
God bless Nigeria.
