Burna Boy, a coworker, has come under fire from Nigerian artist Eedris Abdulkareem for seemingly “wishing him dead.”
In response to comments made by Abdulkareem on an upcoming podcast, Burna Boy stated that he does not hold the “Jaga Jaga” singer accountable, but rather the donors who provided funds to cover his medical expenses following a kidney transplant in 2022.
Abdulkareem, however, responded on his Instagram page, calling Burna Boy’s wish for him or anybody else to die “truly saddening and very disappointing”. It is extremely horrible to make fun of my health issue and place the blame on those who kept me alive.
The seasoned performer promised to resolve the rift with a single release soon.
“I will reply through the only medium that I have… and that is music; so I will be dropping my heartfelt response via a single aptly named ‘Essay to Burna Boy’ in a fortnight,” he added.
