Court Remands Four Over Illegal Possession Of Weapons, Other Crimes In Lagos

The Lagos State government charged four individuals on Monday for robbery and belonging to an illegal organization in front of an Ikeja Special Offenses Court.

According to the New Telegraph, four counts of conspiracy to commit robbery, unauthorized gun possession, armed robbery, and unlawful assembly were brought against the defendants since they lacked a fixed residence address.

After the defendants entered a not-guilty plea, the prosecutor, Mr. Gabriel Iyoha, asked for a trial date. The prosecution said that the accused offenses breached sections 51, 297(2), and 299 of the Lagos State, 2015 Criminal Laws; the defense attorney,

Mr. Iyoha also told the court that the four defendants would be called as witnesses.

The trial was rescheduled for July 10 by the judge, who also remanded the accused to the detention facility.
