AFCON 2023: Ghanaian rapper Black Sheriff explains why he’s glad Nigeria lost

Rapper and singer from Ghana, Mohammed Ismail Sherif, better known by his stage as Black Sherif, has expressed his happiness over Ivory Coast’s triumph over Nigeria in the recently concluded African Cup of Nations (AFCON) final.

When the Black Stars of Ghana withdrew from the competition during the group round, he claimed he was relieved that Nigeria had lost since several of his colleagues in Nigeria had called to make fun of him.

Black Sherif promised to keep making fun of Nigeria for losing the AFCON.

On his X handle, he wrote: “Blaqbonez called me on Facetime to laugh at me when my country’s Black Stars was sent home; the guy couldn’t stop smiling. Odumodu was on Facetime for the next 3 days telling the Jeweller to make me the cheapest piece he’s ever made, And na me call am for the Jeweller o! You want me to shut up? I’m going to bed. We go again this afternoon. Super Eagles! you do this one.”
