Following Nigeria’s victory in the semifinals, Nigerian rapper Timaya resorted to social media to advise fellow Nigerians residing in South Africa to proceed with care.
Following Nigeria’s triumph against South Africa in the AFCON football tournament semifinals, there have been celebrations on social media.
The match advanced Nigeria to the finals, but it seems that concerns regarding the safety of Nigerians in the participating country have increased.
Timaya advised Nigerians in South Africa to “just day your day” on Twitter, advising them to stay indoors to avoid any possible altercations or acts of violence that might happen following the football match.
“If you’re a Nigerian and in SA tonight pls just DEY YOUR DEY!,” Timaya wrote.
