Stanley Nwabali, the goalie for the Super Eagles and Chippa United FC, has stated that receiving criticism inspires and fortifies him to perform to the best of his abilities.
At a press conference held following the game, Nwabali—who was chosen as the Man of the Match versus South Africa—stated as much.
After a thrilling 120 minutes of play, Nigeria’s Super Eagles overcame South Africa’s Bafana Bafana 4-2 to earn a spot in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations final.
Nwabali said: “It happens in football.
“If football goes like this, your fans want more from you and they say things like this.
“I just feel like it is a motivation for me to keep working hard.”
When Coach Jose Peseiro told him he was visiting him in South Africa, where he is currently playing for Chippa United FC, he stated it felt like a dream.
The goalie, who is stationed in South Africa, expressed gratitude to his teammates for their early support.
He reaffirmed his determination to give Nigeria and the Super Eagles his all.
