The Plateau State Police Command has stated that gunmen killed 10 individuals, burned down 10 houses, and wounded two others during the attack that occurred on January 24 in the Kwahaslalek Community of Mangu Local Government Area.

”So far, over 10 corpses have been recovered from various locations in Mangu, two injured persons currently receiving treatment at the hospital.

”One car and 10 houses were burnt down,” he said.

However, the Mwaghavul Development Association (MDA), a socio-cultural group, has claimed that the death toll from the attack is higher, alleging that 30 individuals lost their lives. Joseph Gwankat, the National President of MDA, stated that the majority of those killed were women and children.
