Wizkid, Burna Boy, Sarz, and other Afrobeats musicians were influenced by Fela.

The iconic singer and Afrobeat pioneer Fela Kuti has had a significant effect on contemporary Afrobeats performers, according to Nigerian record producer Sarz, whose real name is Osabuohien Osaretin.

He claimed that in addition to current Afrobeats artists like Wizkid, Burna Boy, and Rema, the late music superstar is an influence to next musical generations.

In a recent interview with ARZ, Sarz revealed that he also uses rhythm samples from Fela’s compositions.

He said, “Recently, I listened to Fela’s catalog and I just find things I can sample or flip. Even in modern Afrobeats, you can tell his influence on a lot of us, from Burna Boy to Wizkid to Rema, and to the generation even coming. I’m sure they will still be inspired by the legend.”
