In a proactive move to combat environmental infringements and curb noise pollution, the Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA) has undertaken stringent measures by sealing numerous establishments across Isolo and Gbagada in Lagos State.
Various hotels, lounges, malls, and companies, including Fabtol Hotel & Suites, Lustet Hotel, Emery Hotel, CF Hotel & Suites, Trending Place Hotel, Tomakan Nigeria Limited, Witsspring Suites, Sikkyrolex Hotel, Million Dollar Imperial Hotel, Kidzmall, and Lounge 14A, have fallen under the enforcement action taken by LASEPA.
The crackdown is a result of identified cases of noise pollution and other environmental violations in these establishments. LASEPA, in alignment with its mission to safeguard the environment from such infractions, deemed it necessary to take decisive action to ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
The affected entities, located in different parts of Isolo and Gbagada, have faced temporary closure as LASEPA works to rectify the identified environmental issues. This move underscores the agency’s commitment to maintaining a healthy and sustainable environment for residents and businesses alike.
LASEPA officials were on-site to carry out the sealing of the establishments, emphasizing the importance of adherence to environmental standards. The agency has encouraged other businesses to review and enhance their environmental practices to avoid similar actions in the future.
As the sealed establishments undergo the necessary adjustments to meet regulatory requirements, LASEPA remains vigilant in its mission to preserve the ecological balance and protect the well-being of Lagos residents. The crackdown serves as a stern warning to businesses across the state to prioritize environmental compliance to avoid legal consequences and contribute to a cleaner, healthier Lagos.
