Popular Nollywood actress Funke Akindele, who graduated from the University of Lagos (UNILAG) with a degree in law, has shared the reasons she decided to pursue a career in acting rather than law.
The box office queen clarified that her first motivation for pursuing law was her desire to realize her late father’s dream of seeing her become a lawyer.
The mother of two acknowledged that she had true passions for acting, singing, and dancing. She also admitted that her father’s goal for her to become a lawyer had an impact on her decision to pursue a legal career. She intended to fulfill her father’s aspirations by going to law school and then going back into show business.
Akindele emphasized that her legal background had a huge influence on her acting career, but she also stated that she never regretted the choice.
She made special mention of how much she enjoys criminal law and how much joy it gives her to include legal themes into her performances.
